ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • New LMS - Switching from Canvas to Bridge!
    Feb 22, 2019
As required by HUD, all HMIS End Users must be provided adequate training prior to receiving an HMIS license. Maine HMIS End Users currently complete courses through Canvas, an online Learning Management System (LMS), to meet this requirement. The Maine HMIS Team is excited to announce that we will begin using a new LMS, Bridge. Bridge is a more advanced version of Canvas. Based upon Survey Monkey results compiled on four courses currently offered through Canvas, most End Users prefer more interactive learning and Bridge will have the capacity to meet this need!
  • Data Sharing
    Oct 2, 2018
A Data Sharing Workgroup was formed to help implement the system wide data sharing in HMIS.
  • Point-in-Time Count (PIT) and Housing Inventory Count (HIC)
    Sep 21, 2018
The PIT count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January. HUD requires that Continuums of Care conduct an annual count of homeless persons who are sheltered in emergency shelter, transitional housing, and Safe Havens on a single night. CoCs are also required to report occupancy numbers for all projects on the HIC for the night of the PIT. Keep reading for the 2019 dates.
